Media
We may know tire balance from the media or vehicle handbook at the bottom of our glove compartment, however it’s diffcult for many of us to tell the differences between the static balance and dynamic balance.
“Static balance requires the wheel center of mass to be located on its axis of rotation, usually at the center of the axle on which it is mounted…Dynamic balance requires that a principal axis of the tire's moment of inertia be aligned with the axis about which the tire rotates, usually the axle on which it is mounted.” (says WiKi )
To comprehend this difference, the drawing presents the visual understanding as below:
Dynamic balance is especially important for trucks in long haul and heavy duty. Abnormal vibration or noice, uneven wearing of tires might be caused by dynamic balance issues. Every piece of tire out from Paxxon has been tested following the A TMC recommended practice (RP) which is a specification or practice that assists equipment users, vehicle/component manufacturers and other industry suppliers in the purchase, design, maintenance and performance of commercial vehicle equipment. Current Technology Maintenance Council limits from RP 214B Tire/Wheel End Balance and Runout section.
